Hello!
I'm Melissa Englert

Learning Snapshots are designed to pique your students' curiosity about the world and help them on their journey to become global citizens. Global education holds a special place in my heart, as does international travel. I am a Google Certified Innovator, and a Teachers For Global Classrooms Alumna with the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and IREX, International Research & Exchanges Board. I participated in the Brussels Study Tour of the EU through the European Studies Center at the University of Pittsburg. As an undergrad, I completed a study tour of the education systems in England and Wales.
I am also a CS Discoveries Facilitator in partnership with Code.org, working with teachers in grades 6-10 as they learn how to teach computer science. I've taught kindergarten, first grade, special education, gifted education K-8, and a middle
school course on Global Citizenship. I was a Title 1 Innovation and Learning Coach and founded and sponsored two middle school extracurricular clubs: chess and coding. I currently coordinate gifted programming for a suburban school district.
